I got two new tattoos on Wednesday. :) The one on my shoulder is a quote from the first Harry Potter book. Dumbledore says it to Harry when they're standing at the Mirror of Erised. It's always been one of my favorite quotes from the books. I also got the deathly hallows on the inside of my right wrist. It's the same size and location as the om on my left wrist. It's in the scab stage right now so I don't have a picture to show, but you can see it on my dailybooth in the comments.

I love them. I'm so happy. :)

training for the ballet, potter?

Tonight I discovered a tumblr site called Mustache Potter. I've spent quite a bit of time tonight browsing through all of the pages of Harry Potter gifs that have been fixed with mustaches. I love it. Definitely check it out.
In other news... I'M GOING BACK TO SALT LAKE CITY IN SIX DAYS. Not ten... SIX! Lisa didn't schedule me at all for next week so my last day is Sunday. So Paul and I figured, why not go back even earlier? He's going to hang streamers and balloons and it'll be so much fun.

I'm having trouble figuring out what I should take back with me though. I really don't plan to come back to Missouri unless absolutely necessary, but I don't want to take everything back to SLC with me on this trip. I'm not moving in to the dorms for another 2 months, so I'd rather not have my car filled with stealable items I could just leave in my room for a while. :\ Also, I'd like to pack a bit lighter this time around since the single rooms in Benchmark aren't very big. I'm having trouble deciding what books and movies to take back and if I should take my ukulele. My life is so hard. BUT I have a lot less clothing now so that should help out a bit. I'm betting that I could probably fit all of my clothes in a single tote. Whoa.

Next day edit: I was up until 3am packing. My clothes would not fit in one tote, but I did get everything but my dresses into a large suitcase. I've left out only what I'll be wearing the next six days.

Today I painted my nails, dipped them in rubbing alcohol and then pressed newspaper clippings onto them.
I also made vanilla cupcakes and iced them with the icing recipe that Evan's smokin-hot mom gave me. They were delicious. I took a pan of them out to the workers at my grandma's bank and a few to Shawna and Callie when we had lunch together at Washington Street.

I've been watching my computer install an update for my Sims games for the last four hours, I think. It's barely made any progress.. but without the update my game refuses to play. :\ I'm so bored and all I want to do is play Paul Kim's family.

UHHHHN TIP

ITS BEEN A WHILE.
hehehehe

Before I forget, I want to throw out a couple of things:
  1. You should probably click here and be impressed with my ability to successfully do a 30 day challenge. Somehow, I could do that but not blog... hm.
  2. Over break I discovered a band called Cœur de Pirate and I am in love.

Et il m'aime encore, et moi je t'aime un peu plus fort.

Break was not a good time for me. I kept going between being pissed and being sad and it was exhausting. I watched the first six seasons of the Office, watched countless classic Disney movies, and read 3 Harry Potter books + a ton of French poetry.

The first week back in Utah wasn't a great time either. I came in to it on the edge of a depression and things didn't look up when someone (we won't mention any names ;) ) decided it would be fun to call things off, turn them back on, then go back to being indecisive. No one has the slightest clue about what's going on there even now. So that's been fun! (sarcasm)

Semaine deux wasn't so bad. I was relatively happy. Things were improving everywhere and I was finally starting to get out of the slump that Missouri so graciously put me in. Then we hit the weekend. Davis Powers, that little lump of a boy, always trailing after Black (or was that Peter Pettigrew? teehee), decided to remove me from his life because I wouldn't give him someone's phone number. Bit of an overreaction, eh? Apparently it had been a long time coming. So that ruined a good part of my Friday night. But I managed to drink and not cry or puke so I guess some would call the night a success? Haha. Saturday was spent the same way as Friday (Little Big Planet 2, movie, free Domino's pizza) but without the drinking. Then Sunday night rolled around and I discovered that yet another person had removed me from Facebook - and I assume - from their life. That was a huge blow and ruined my night. I lost my appetite, was on the verge of tears at dinner, and resorted to curling up in a ball of pity after Corinne left for Scott's. haaaha. I don't really want to talk about him anymore since he and his girlfriend read my blog apparently? Wouldn't want to give off the wrong impression, like I want to be his friend or anything. Yeesh. That would be terrible...

Anyway...
I really want this dress:
so pretty

#funfact
It's very common knowledge that I'm a picky eater. People seem to be asking me a lot lately what foods I do and do not like. Here are some foods that I definitely do not like:
  • Raisins, peanuts, cantaloupe, mango, peaches, pears, apples, grapefruit, peanut butter, steak, catfish, pork, peppers of any color, hummus, milk, raw carrots, pineapple, watermelon, calamari, sausage, hamburger (usually), cream cheese, sweet potatoes, scrambled eggs, ketchup
And for foods I do like, since people think I'm too picky to like anything:
  • Strawberries, bananas, grapes, oranges, tomatoes, mushrooms, salt, pretzels, cooked carrots (but only with roast so they're not very carroty tasting?), potatoes, broccoli, celery, lettuce, eggs (overhard, broken yolk), Froot Loops, Honeycomb, Special K Fruit and Yogurt. lol.

orientation

I'm feeling sad and sick. So I'd like to share with all of you a video. In Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, this scene ALWAYS makes me cry. I'm not a fan of Robert Pattinson a'tall, but I bawl each time I see this. When Amos Diggory runs down to Cedric saying "That's my son! That's my boy! My boy!" I just die. It's so sad.

Today was orientation. It was long, boring, and hot. I got sunburnt and I was only outside when we got a tour of the campus and for lunch. I only have 11 hours, making me a part-time student, so I have to get another class. But as of now, these are my classes:
  • Film 2100 - Intro to Film; M, 6-10 pm
  • French 1010 - Beg French I; MTWH, 10:45-11:35 am
  • Math 1030 - Intro Quant Reasoning; MWF, 11:40 am-12:50 pm
I might try to switch everything around cause I'm not a big fan of my schedule right now. After orientation, I got to see the dorms and they're actually really nice. And the rooms aren't small like I'd figured so I'm pretty pumped. I also kind of met one of my suitemates, Corinne. I say "kind of" because I saw her multiple times and we waved, but we only talked once and it was for less than 30 seconds. So that kind of sucks. But we'll have a whole year together, so it's not a big deal.

After we left the college, we had dinner at this place called Su Casa. A friend recommended it and says he loves it, but I wasn't impressed. I got a cheese quesadilla and chicken enchilada and both made me feel sick. The quesadilla was covered in grease and they just tasted strange. I only had a couple of bites. I ate the enchilada but I didn't enjoy it. The shell fell apart too easily and the chicken inside looked/tasted like frozen chunks instead of fresh chicken. I prefer El Nopal in Trenton. I don't know how I'll be able to survive without them after I move here. :(

Now we're back at the hotel again. Jonathan's swimming while the rest of us chill and relax. I think we're leaving tomorrow.

The hotel we stayed at last night didn't offer wi-fi in the rooms.. only in select spots in the hotel. It was total shit, as was the town. We were in Rawlins, WY, and we went to four hotels before we finally found one with openings. On a Monday! In a nasty little town off the interstate! So here is my post for yesterday that I didn't get to post due to the hotel:

MONDAY, JULY 12
If I had any doubts about moving to Utah, they have all been removed. As soon as we got into the part of Wyoming where we could see hills and mountains, my heart swelled. They're so beautiful. I don't know how I'm going to be able to bear the next month in Missouri. We're staying in Rawlins, Wyoming tonight. We were in the car from 6 am to 10 pm (technically 11 by Missouri time). That's 17 hours in a car with my family. We were all aching when we took our little rest stops. Anyway, we're only 4 hours away from Salt Lake City! We're going to leave after breakfast in the morning and use the rest of the day to see whatever we can. I feel like I'm home; I love it. :)

Now onto my post for today.
We are in Salt Lake City and it is gorgeous. As soon as you enter Utah, you can tell. The scenery changes drastically. The "mountains" are no longer made of falling-rocks, but are covered in lush greenery and, in some cases, snow. All of the land is green and alive, no longer brown and dead looking. It's really pretty sweet. We got in around noon and our room was cleaned early, so we were able to get all of our stuff moved in early. Then we went to the Hogle Zoo and walked around for a good three hours, I believe. Nick passed out after we stopped to get Flavor Bursts, which were really quite good. I got a sunburn. Oh, and I talked to some girls who saw my livelavalive shirt and really dig Mitchell Davis. Then we circled our hotel's block multiple times while my grandma tried to find somewhere to eat, and again later in a different part of town when we were trying to find a Walmart. It was ridiculous. I kept shouting, "My friend says there's all kinds of food if you go to these streets!" and she would ignore me and get lost some more. Seriously, ridiculous. We ended up finding an IHOP that made my grandma sick to her stomach. Woo! Then we went to Walmart and bought windshield wiper blades for the car and sunglasses for my mom. And now we're back at the hotel. Everyone went to go try out the swimming pool and hot tub but I'm here blogging because I didn't bring a bathing suit. Supercool.

Orientation starts at 8:45 in the morning and I'm nervous. I'm going to be meeting one of my roommates for the time. And the whole thing doesn't get over until after 5. So I'm going to be spending a lot of time at the college with people I don't know and my family. I don't see it going too well, for some reason. haha. ;)

Anyway, I think I'm going to take a shower and start getting ready for bed.. even though it's only 8:15 pm. We don't have anything planned for the rest of the night so why should I keep all of this makeup on? Also, I'm sure I don't smell the greatest. I know I smell fine but it was in the 90s today and I was sweatin' balls while walking around the zoo

So, yes. Goodnight, whoever you are. I'm going to read Eldest and enjoy the hell out of it. :)

UPDATE: 8:21 PM
HAHAHAHAHAHAH. Our bathtub in this hotel room doesn't hold water. We called down to the front desk and asked if they could bring us some kind of stopper. Sooo this lady comes in and my mom's like "Yeah, sorry, we just need a stopper so I can bathe my infant" and the lady goes "Sorry 'bout tha'" EXACTLY like Hagrid in the first Harry Potter movie after he breaks down the shack's door. Oh my god, she said that and I busted up laughing and had to cover my mouth with both hands so they wouldn't be distracted by me. But it was so funny. Oh man. I wish you could have been here to witness it.

like a boss

It's 9:01 am. I haven't gotten up this early in quite some time. I'm going to use the time to my advantage and pack LIKE A BOSS. It's disturbing how unprepared I am for this trip. Normally I'm packed at least a week in advance for trips I make. When I was going to New York, SLC, and Kentucky I had my bags packed extremely early and kept going through to make sure everything was there and whatnot. So yeah, I don't know what's up with me this week.

I got all dolled up last night because Derek and I were supposed to find some parties. But he figured playing UFC with a bunch of boys was better than hanging out with me. Douche. So I sat in my neighbor's yard and smoked, went to Royal Inn to harass the employees, then came home and passed out. Quite the eventful night. I hated it.

Tonight I work five to eleven with Taylor. I plan on staying, even though we're leaving around 5 am for vacation. Looks like I'll be sleeping in the car. :)

I couldn't resist. heheheh.

UPDATE: 11:53 am.
I don't know how I'm supposed to stand 17 hours in a car with my family, or 34 if you count the ride back to Missouri. All of us are already fighting. Jonathan won't get off the couch to take out the trash, put his clothes away, or pack so mom is yelling at him. Mom won't go through any of the clothes that were supposed to be taken to the thrift store yesterday, so there are multiple baskets cluttering the kitchen and living room up. I can't get through the kitchen to do my laundry so I can finish packing, so of course I get pissed off and start yelling. And my grandma is just sitting in her room watching her soaps, telling me off because my mom has more important things to do (aka, take care of Nicholas) than do all of the things that should have been done yesterday. No one seems to grasp that I only have five hours before I have to work and everything has to be done before I leave. I don't know. I'm frustrated. So while my laundry is drying, I'm holing myself up in my room and trying to make sure I have everything I need. >:(

Oh, my mom is also pulling the "this is our last vacation together, you should enjoy it" card. Our family vacations are always shit. I didn't want my orientation to turn into a vacation. I just wanted to fly to Salt Lake City for a day, get orientation over with, and come back. Instead, I have to take an entire week off of work and suffer.

I couldn't resist, hahahahah.

trailers!

So I'm back in Missouri, yay! I can't believe I'm so excited to be back in this shit hole. On the drive back, I had to go through downtown St. Louis and I discovered that I really enjoy driving on roads with six lanes. It's just exhilarating to have so many people in one area all trying to get out of it. Oh and I saw someone get pulled over in the lane next to me, even though I was going 80 and the speed limit was 55. Bwahaha.

ANYWAY, like I said before, Davis and I went and saw Eclipse last night. There were two previews that I really enjoyed. First is Scott Pilgrim vs. The World. I lol'd. It looks really good. Plus, any movie with Michael Cera is normally pretty good.

Second was the trailer for the Deathly Hallows. Seriously, throughout the whole thing Davis and I had chills. I can't wait for November.

kentucky

So hi, hello. I'm in Kentucky. I got in yesterday (Tuesday) around 5:00 and since Davis wouldn't be back to town until midnight, I wasted the rest of the day. I hung out with this kid named Jacob for a few hours and drove around Owensboro with him. After that I came back to Henderson, got my first "real" food of the day at Arby's (jr. roast beef and mozzarella sticks - SO GOOD), then sat in their parking lot and slept. When I finally got to Davis's house, we sat in his room and tried to convince people on Omegle that we were a sensual black male looking for intimate phone sex.. It didn't work. :( Then I blacked out on his brother Tate's futon.

Today, we chilled at the house for a while before heading off to have some mcfun. Here's a picture of me livin' it up in Davis's room:

I look so excited, hahah. Anyway, our first stop was at McDonalds for lunch, where I was harassed by some old man while standing in line. Then we went to the zoo and paid two dollars for a leaf of lettuce to feed to the giraffes. :D It was so much fun. The giraffes' tongues felt like sandpaper, it was such a strange feeling. After that we headed over to the mall to browse and kill time before we had dinner at Buffalo Wild Wings. It was my first time ever eating there.. I got some fries and boneless wings with medium sauce and it made my lips feel like they were on fire. They weren't bad, but I probably won't be going back.

THEN WE SAW ECLIPSE. >:O It wasn't terrible. Kristen's acting has definitely improved and she seems to have learned to keep her mouth closed when she's not talking. I don't like that they changed the actress who played Victoria. But yeah, not a bad movie. I'd have to say the best part was when they showed the preview for the next Harry Potter movie. Oh god, I had chills throughout the whole thing. It looks so good. I'm nearly finished rereading the book, so I'm excited! It's a good thing my roommates like Harry Potter, or else I'd be seeing the movie alone in November, haha.

Anyway, it's late so I believe I'm going to read a bit then head to bed. Davis and I are having lunch at some Mexican place tomorrow, then I'm enduring another seven and a half hour trip back to Missouri. I'm definitely not ready for that. The driving wasn't too bad - I had expected it to be much harder - but it was so boring being alone for so long. Plus most of the drive was like 70 minutes of driving on one road, taking an exit, 70 minutes on the new road, then a new exit. Very repetitive and laaaaame. Oh well, I've gotta be strong and endure. Goodnight, everyone. :)

I didn't come back to update last night and I'm sorry. I didn't get home until almost 4 am and I went straight to bed. My night was pretty boring. Mostly sat around at Brent's watching everyone play with the new puppy (Jack) and play Call of Duty. Does it sound like a shitty night to you? Cause it definitely was.

I leave for Kentucky in two days. :) I can't wait. C-c-c-can't w-wait! I'll leave you today with this SUPER funny picture:

PFFFFFTTTTCHHHCHHH HAHAHAHAHAHA. ;)
