starbucks, all-nighters, and ignorant missourians..

I'm drinking a soy chai latte from Starbucks and it is soooo goooodddd.
I haven't had Starbucks in such a long time.

#funfact: I have a gold card at Starbucks. When I first moved to the SLC, I'd go there literally every day before work and buy a drink, and sometimes again after work. If I wanted Starbucks in Missouri I'd have to travel an hour and twelve minutes to St. Joseph.. There's one that's less than a five minute walk from here and one on 400 S that I pass daily. I couldn't help myself.

ANYWAY. Now it's Friday. Guess what I did last night!

I PULLED AN ALL-NIGHTER!
Yay for college and not studying until the absolute last second!

I completely aced the final though. I'm so proud of myself. Third final I've aced this week. :')

Now I want to blog about something that's really been bothering me. Earlier in the week, I was browsing Facebook and I saw a status that started with "I don't like muslim people and I think their religion is stupid and flat out wrong."

So I'm like, hm.. I literally just took an exam over Islam and aced it, I don't recall it being stupid or flat out wrong. So I had to insert my opinion.. That's when shit hit the fan.

....They multiply then destroy and conquer? Are you freakin' kidding me? And to say that the religion is nothing like Christianity? Bullshit. BULLSHIT. I'd like to know where he got his information from because everything he's saying is wrong.

God. It makes me so mad sometimes to look at people from Trenton on Facebook. Everyone is so ignorant. I want to go back for the summer to be with my family, but I don't want to be surrounded like idiots like this guy.

Oh, and to top it off, Derek posted this picture on Facebook today:

And you'll never guess who left the first comment...

It just makes me so mad. I highly doubt either of them know anything about the Islam religion and yet they are both okay with bashing it. It's just not right. I don't go around hating on Christians and their beliefs because I don't share them. It's not appropriate. That's not something that human beings do. What the hell.

hey mac users,

I'm really freakin' sorry if upon opening of my blog you get the spinning rainbow ball of death. I think its all the gifs and pictures doing it, but mostly the gifs. I don't know how to make it not bring about the rainbow death ball, so just try to deal until I get shit figured out. I've found that opening the window and not moving the cursor until everything has loaded seems to make the ball not appear? I dono. I'll keep y'all updated.

Things I don't like:
  • The fact that "y'all" is spelled that way, not like "ya'll." That's how I've spelled it up until moving to Utah. "Y'all" is just weird.
  • When people look through my phone, especially my texts. It's invasive and aggravating. I don't go looking through your personal conversations, so you probably shouldn't be doing the same with mine.
  • Supplying the bathroom with tons of toilet paper, when I'm not the only person who uses it. It seems like such a small problem but it makes me so angry. Somehow we go through toilet paper like no one's business and no one seems to want to buy more, so I end up doing it. I'm not buying anymore for the rest of the year, or at least until Emily buys more than I have. We tried making her buy toilet paper last time it was her turn.. She bought a four pack. A fuckin' four pack, while everyone else has bought like 25+ rolls a piece.
  • Whining about petty things like the aforementioned. But holy cow, I am so annoyed right now and I want to vent so I can finish this stupid Hinduism paper and go to bed.
  • Staying up until midnight so I can be one of the first to apply for housing, only to find out that the application process doesn't start until 9am. Gr.
Things I do like:

White Hinterland - Icarus

Marina and the Diamonds - I Am Not A Robot (Clock Opera Remix)

Kid Theodore - This Scene is a Play

#funfact
This Scene is a Play is my definite favorite song of all time. It's beautiful and listening to it makes me happier than anything else.

UHHHHN TIP

ITS BEEN A WHILE.
hehehehe

Before I forget, I want to throw out a couple of things:
  1. You should probably click here and be impressed with my ability to successfully do a 30 day challenge. Somehow, I could do that but not blog... hm.
  2. Over break I discovered a band called Cœur de Pirate and I am in love.

Et il m'aime encore, et moi je t'aime un peu plus fort.

Break was not a good time for me. I kept going between being pissed and being sad and it was exhausting. I watched the first six seasons of the Office, watched countless classic Disney movies, and read 3 Harry Potter books + a ton of French poetry.

The first week back in Utah wasn't a great time either. I came in to it on the edge of a depression and things didn't look up when someone (we won't mention any names ;) ) decided it would be fun to call things off, turn them back on, then go back to being indecisive. No one has the slightest clue about what's going on there even now. So that's been fun! (sarcasm)

Semaine deux wasn't so bad. I was relatively happy. Things were improving everywhere and I was finally starting to get out of the slump that Missouri so graciously put me in. Then we hit the weekend. Davis Powers, that little lump of a boy, always trailing after Black (or was that Peter Pettigrew? teehee), decided to remove me from his life because I wouldn't give him someone's phone number. Bit of an overreaction, eh? Apparently it had been a long time coming. So that ruined a good part of my Friday night. But I managed to drink and not cry or puke so I guess some would call the night a success? Haha. Saturday was spent the same way as Friday (Little Big Planet 2, movie, free Domino's pizza) but without the drinking. Then Sunday night rolled around and I discovered that yet another person had removed me from Facebook - and I assume - from their life. That was a huge blow and ruined my night. I lost my appetite, was on the verge of tears at dinner, and resorted to curling up in a ball of pity after Corinne left for Scott's. haaaha. I don't really want to talk about him anymore since he and his girlfriend read my blog apparently? Wouldn't want to give off the wrong impression, like I want to be his friend or anything. Yeesh. That would be terrible...

Anyway...
I really want this dress:
so pretty

It's very common knowledge that I'm a picky eater. People seem to be asking me a lot lately what foods I do and do not like. Here are some foods that I definitely do not like:
  • Raisins, peanuts, cantaloupe, mango, peaches, pears, apples, grapefruit, peanut butter, steak, catfish, pork, peppers of any color, hummus, milk, raw carrots, pineapple, watermelon, calamari, sausage, hamburger (usually), cream cheese, sweet potatoes, scrambled eggs, ketchup
And for foods I do like, since people think I'm too picky to like anything:
  • Strawberries, bananas, grapes, oranges, tomatoes, mushrooms, salt, pretzels, cooked carrots (but only with roast so they're not very carroty tasting?), potatoes, broccoli, celery, lettuce, eggs (overhard, broken yolk), Froot Loops, Honeycomb, Special K Fruit and Yogurt. lol.

joyeux noël

I got a ukulele for Christmas. So far I can kind of play the demo version of Talking Bird by Death Cab for Cutie that they released on their newest EP. Someday I want to be able to play like this girl:

Eminem feat. Rihanna - Love the Way You Lie

Bruno Mars - Just the Way You Are

People are probably going to read this and either think I'm a total bitch or that I don't know the meaning of Christmas.. but I am pretty pissed about the gifts (or lack thereof) that I got from my uncles.

Each year my Uncle Jeff gets really bad gifts for everybody at Christmas. I understand that his family doesn't have a lot of money because his latest wife put them in hella debt when she decided she needed to take college classes and become some kind of nurse secretary thing. But I don't understand the point of wasting ten dollars on shit like crossword puzzles and ugly Walmart t-shirts - things that people don't really need - when you can just give them $10 or a gift card to somewhere. It just seems like a waste. You're putting good money to bad use by wasting it on things that aren't going to be used. This year they got me a $1 t-shirt that my aunt found somewhere, some kind of weird fluffy socks, and a hairbrush... I don't even want to know what was going through her head as she was shopping for me if she thinks these things are needed by me. Last year they got me a book of crossword puzzles. The year before that I got a computer game.. a really cheap, stupid one intended for children. It's just aggravating considering I'm a poor college student living on my own. I could use $10, not a hairbrush.

My Uncle Greg, who isn't broke and got everyone really nice gifts this year, didn't get me anything. He gave all of the adults homemade jam and gift cards and all of the kids got candy and games and whatever. I didn't get anything. His excuse was that I'm an adult now and he didn't figure I would like homemade jam. .......Seriously? I love homemade jam. Corinne's dad makes it and it's pretty friggin' fantastic. The least they could have done was given me a gift card like everyone else.

I think I'm irritated mostly because I spent my own money on all of my relatives to buy them nice things and I wasn't gifted in the same manner. I have a $400 insurance payment due the first week of January. I would probably have money to pay for that if I hadn't been a good family member and bought presents for everyone. But now I don't and my mom is pretty peeved that she's going to have to pay for it.

Now that I've blogged about it, that issue is out of my system. I'm not going to think about it anymore. I'm just going to lay in bed, watch the Office and play my ukulele, and hope that the next two weeks fly by. I'm ready to see my friends back in Utah and start another semester of school.

Also, because it's been a while since I've done a #funfact:
Does He Love You by Rilo Kiley makes me cry. It has since the summer before my junior year. I re-downloaded all of Rilo Kiley's music last night and discovered an acoustic version of the song. It's slower and more heartfelt which, of course, made me cry all the harder.

Rilo Kiley - Does He Love You? (Acoustic)

Rilo Kiley - Does He Love You?

OH AND here's what I started out the day wearing:

But mom didn't dig the cut-up Girl Scouts shirt so this is what I wore for the rest of the time...

I have such style.
