dailybooth

What I should be doing:
 >>>  Studying for the composition and oral exams I have in French tomorrow.
(my layout doesn't have bullets or numbers? I need to fix this)

What I'm doing instead:
 >>>  Watching Desperate Housewives.
 >>>  Facebook chatting.
 >>>  Downloading every Lil Wayne album ever.
 >>>  Dailyboothing.

Let me take a moment to talk about Dailybooth. A lot of my friends don't understand the point of it. "You take a picture of yourself every day? What are you, conceited?" Well, yes. But the point is to watch yourself change over time. Do you not realize how much some people change in a year? a month? a day, even? Sometimes I look like a completely different person when I change my hair color. I also like it because it's another way for me to remember what I've done. Having a short memory span really sucks. It's why I blog. When I go back through my Dailybooth, I remember exactly what I was doing, why I decided to take the picture that way, etc. I'll post some pictures from the last year and tell you what I remember from them.
September 4, 2010. Rosie, Emily and I were on our way to a frat party. We ended up walking around University Blvd aimlessly and then sitting at the Stadium TRAX station for ages. Shitty night.
February 18, 2011. I met Chelsi this night, got really drunk and freaked out about my love for all things Hindu and then puked in her bathroom. Mike almost died. You can see my bra because Paul and I couldn't find a good way to cover that shit without me going braless.
April 7, 2011. My left eye is puffy from crying over my just-ended relationship with Stuart.
May 5, 2011. ROSE'S PLANE HAD JUST LANDED IN SLC! I was real excited to see my best friend for the first time in five months.
June 7, 2011. I was in Missouri and really high. Really. Reaaallllllly. High.
July 10, 2011. I spent the day with Mitch's family watching Star Wars. Mitch and I had sex on his bedroom floor for the first time.
July 21, 2011. I was about to leave for a weekend camping excursion with Mitch's family. I dropped a roasted marshmallow in my lap and embarrassed myself thoroughly.
September 30, 2011. Mitch broke up with me this night. I bailed on the party we were supposed to be going to, cried all over Paul Kim, and then cried myself to sleep until he came home from the party to talk to me again.
November 24, 2011. Thanksgiving. This picture shows just how alike my mom and I look. Shit's kray.

Wasn't that fun!? I suggest everyone get a Dailybooth and follow me. :) Oh, and follow Dracula. Her posts are so entertaining. Just click through to her db and make sure to read through the comments. She and other db regulars leave some awesome picture comments at each other.

This trip to Missouri was much more family-oriented than I had imagined. I had planned on being at my house for meals but spending a lot of my time with friends I hadn't seen since June. But instead, I only hung out with people twice and for very short amounts of time.

Monday: Landed in Kansas City around 2:30pm, bought a new coat and gloves, ate at the Golden Corral. Rose came over and we watched The Lion King with Nick. Admittedly, I was so exhausted that I slept through most of it and left Rose to hang out with Nick.
Tuesday: My grandma and I made vegetable soup for lunch and after dinner Scott, Rose and I went to Walmart cause everything in Trenton closes at 10pm and we needed something to do.
Wednesday: We had a roast with the works for lunch and then mom and I made caramel macchiato cookies. I spent a couple of hours trying to find Tangled on dvd in town since the internet connection at my parents' house sucks balls and netflix wouldn't work.
Thursday: The whole family came over for Thanksgiving. Mom and I went to Walmart for Black Friday shopping. We bought a 51" TV for one of her friends in Iraq, a Wii for me, and some other random shit. This lady had SIX crockpots, two vacuums and a lot of Wiis in her two carts... Black Friday shoppers are crazy.
We took Wayne (my mom's friend in Iraq)'s truck down since the TV wouldn't fit in mom's trailblazer... but we were afraid of it falling over in the bed without being tied down... so I had to sit in the backseat with my arm out the window holding onto the TV the whole time. lol.
Friday: Spent the morning chilling with the family before I had to fly back to Salt Lake. Just look at how adorable my brother is. Holy cute.
And that's about it. Extremely unexciting. I watched the Shrek series and The Lion King so many times that I lost count. My mom turns Shrek on in her room and The Lion King on in his room and he goes back and forth. It's cute. :)

I promised Kira I would blog during my layover in Minneapolis on Monday… But my flight out of SLC was an hour late and I had to sprint around MSP to catch my next plane. So no layover blogging timez. I also pulled an all-nighter so I was unconscious during both of my flights.. so no mid-flight blogging either.
Two Thursdays ago, Amanda and I went to sushi and then to the Breaking Dawn pt 1 premiere. It was really fucking terrible.... I was in panic mode the entire time Edward and Bella were having sex and then Bella was thinking about them having sex the day after. I had my knees to my chest, eyes wide with horror... I was legit freaking out. I have never been so disturbed by a sex scene.

During the opening credits there was a preview for the new Snow White and the Huntsman. It actually looks like it'll be a good movie. That is, until you get 57 seconds into the preview....

Kristen Stewart.....Kristen Stewart!? SERIOUSLY? They pick her as the fairest of them all!? Why god, why!? Ugggggghhhh. Why does she ruin everything I love!?

The next day I ended up taking Le Bus to Wendover, NV, for Michael's birthday party. On Saturday I went to Chili's and a hockey game with Kira, Beckie and Marques. There was a small party at Mark and Colby's on Sunday where we watched the Labyrinth and on Monday I flew back to Missouri.
Up next... My wonderfully exciting times in Missoura!

the candle warmer

Just look at it... Isn't it a beauty? Just look at the way it warms candles...
That's pure liquid.

I bought this candle warmer for five bucks at Walmart a few months ago cause my room smelled realllly bad. Terrible, even. We're not allowed to light candles at the dorms so I figured a candle warmer would be the best option to get the stank out. Turns out no one gives a fuck if you light candles here - we do it in the kitchen and living room all the time - but I love this little thing.

Today my blog passed the 10,000 view mark. Woo.

It's been a pretty uneventful week. On Friday, the work crew and I went to Chili's and then hit up a hockey game at the Maverik Center. I totally ran out of gas on I-215 on the way to Chili's. Cool, right? Not at all. Embarrassing. Luckily the people I work with are awesome and poked fun at me but didn't judge me because I'm a bum and hate putting gas in my car. Saturday was the Utah vs. UCLA game. It started dumping snow right before the game started so I was close to freezing to death for four hours. I seriously couldn't feel my toes. But I had a good time since I chose to sit with Chelsi and Michael's families. At first I felt kind of bummed out that I was missing out on the MUSS action, but I started doing the cheers along with them and got Chelsi's section to cheer along with me. So that was fun. :) After the game, the Archibalds and I headed out to Holladay for a hipster party in celebration of Amy's new job at Urban Outfitters. It was... pretty lame... No offense to Colby or Skip. It just wasn't a night for partying.

I spent the majority of this afternoon at Amanda's house getting my hair done. I went from this (Saturday before the snow ruined my hair):
tooooo this:
I am one cute ass ginger. I'm really happy with how it turned out. I wanted to go for a more natural red so I can stop dying my hair for a while. This is so close to my natural hair color and it's amaaaazing. It's definitely going to take some getting used to. I haven't had light hair since I was a sophomore in high school. But I love it. :)

So yeah. This week I have 2 French exams, a psych paper due, and a humor assignment to pick up that will make me want to kill myself. Friday is the trip to Wendover for Michael's birthday. I may not be going to that though cause I'm really freaked out about using my age 30 ID. :( Somebody magic me older, please?

Meeting Grace Bonney was everything I could have ever hoped for. Holy. Crap. We only interacted for maybe 2 minutes but it was incredible. We talked about how I was skipping my Anthropology of Humor class to meet her and how I'd been talking about this event for weeks. It was awesome. There were tiny cupcakes, the world's most delicious apple cider with real cinnamon sticks, and cranberry champagne spritzers. It was seriously so perfect.
Now I just need to run into Ryan Marshall when he comes to Salt Lake City in the spring and my life will be complete.

The Sims 3
After one of my Sims cheated and her husband called her out on it, the family got really weird. These two (sisters) would not stop flirting with each other and trying to make out. :\

stupid, so stupid.

Sometimes I drink... and sometimes I get drunk. and SOMETIMES I get so drunk that I drop my iPhone into a toilet. Yeah. That totally happened this weekend. I went to the bathroom and lifted up the seat and somehow threw my phone into the toilet. So now I'm stuck with this shitty HTC Status loaner phone for the next week:
I also say some really weird things when I'm drunk, such as:
"When I laugh, a cloud of penises comes out of my mouth."

confession time...

Guys....
I have a confession....

I actually started to enjoy watching Secret Life of the American Teenager. o____o
I got sucked in, I couldn't help it! I started watching as a joke because I saw one of the episodes from the most recent season with Cassidy during the summer and I wanted to get caught up to her. But what started as a show to watch and not really pay attention to during homework turned into a sick obsession. I had to watch it any time I had a free moment. I mentioned a couple posts back that I bawled when Adrian and Ben lost their baby. The show got under my skin! When Henry broke up with Alice and she was crying in Mr. Boykewich's arms, I started crying too. It's ridiculous because it's an awful show! None of the actors have any talent and the show is way too dramatic to have any realism to it. BUT IT GOT TO ME. Oh god. I can't wait for the next season to start so I can see how Ricky likes being engaged to Amy and how Ben handles being a divorcé.

Ahem. Anyway.
Now that I'm done with Secret Life, I've decided to start watching the Vampire Diaries.
I see tumblr posts about it all the time and it doesn't look too horrible but... I'm on episode 12 of season 1 right now and all I can think of is Twilight. It has basically the same plotline as Twilight but with actual acting and hot people. So I don't know what to think of it. I didn't think I would enjoy it because of Ian Somerhalder (I hated him as Boone on LOST) but he seems to be the only thing keeping me from changing over to Gossip Girl.

I'll keep y'all updated.

Halloween weekend...

So last Friday night, Chelsi threw an impromptu Halloween party. I dressed up as Kanye, the cat version.
We had a huge Halloween party at work on Monday. Here's a picture of me as a not-so-cute cat with the most adorable girls in the world, Fatima and Tamara.
Aaaaaand here's a picture of all of the projects my kids and I did last week. A toilet paper roll mummy, a spider ring made from pipe cleaners and a pom-pom, and a paper plate black cat.
Speaking of crafts, I found this dry-erase calendar on Pinterest. I didn't feel like buying a picture frame, so here's my version of the craft for the months of November and December. I actually like it a lot.
I also found this recipe for homemade mozzarella sticks using string cheese and panko crumbs. Absolutely delicious!
Corinne and I have been trying to find new restaurants to go to lately. I recently discovered Diva's Cupcakes over on 1560 E 3300 S. They had really delicious sandwiches and coffee at a reasonable price and a greenhouse area that you could sit in while you ate. It'd be a really nice place to study too if it wasn't so far out of the way. I didn't try any of their cupcakes but the gluten-free chocolate lemon one Corinne bought was gone before we got to EmilieJayne, so I'm guessing it was good. ;)
On a related note, the red cups are back at Starbucks. It's officially winter. I'm so excited!
